Lessons from 6 months with baby

It’s hard to believe, but last week my daughter turned 6 months old.

There are a million cliched lines I could throw out here. “Time flies.” “Where does the time go?” “Blink and it’s over.” Thing is, these lines are cliched for a reason: They’re all true.

And while six months is not an extraordinary amount of time, it was time filled with amazing adventures and plenty of life’s lessons. Here’s what I’ve learned:

Who will win at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards?

I have to be honest, I'm surprised they are even letting me write an Oscar story after my embarrassing Golden Globes showing in January but, alas, here I am again.

But lucky for me this year's Academy Awards are shaping up to be one of the most predictable galas in years with certain films (cough, cough ... "Avatar" ... cough, cough) all but assured of taking home their fair share of trophies.

But some questions do remain. Will Jeff Bridges continue his award season dominance of the Best Actor category? Can anyone knock off the big blue powerhouse that is James Cameron's "Avatar"? Will the lesser knowns like "In the Loop" (for Best Adapted Screenplay) or "The Secret of Kells" (for Best Animated Feature) be able to make any Oscar noise? Tune in at 8 tonight (ABC, Ch. 9) to see how my picks measure up.

Now that the Olympics are over, it's time to welcome back your regularly scheduled programming.

March marks the beginning of the spring TV season where many of the shows that took a little winter hibernation come out of their caves and join the rest of us.

Not sure when your favorite is back on the air? Here's a little Fanboy checklist.

Yep, just confirmed. Michelle Rodriguez will be back in some capacity to reprise her role as Tailie Ana-Lucia.

Rodriguez, who was killed off in season 2, returned in season 5 when Ana-Lucia appeared in one of Hurley's visions.

Die-hard Smith fans will love 'Cop Out'

CopOut_1Sheet_DOM.jpgKevin Smith's latest film "Cop Out" is a lot of things. But there is one thing it isn't: smart.

If you're looking for intellectual stimulation, buy a ticket to "Crazy Heart." If you're looking to just be dumb for a while and laugh your head off, "Cop Out" is for you.

First, Bruce Willis being Bruce Willis is always awesome. He pokes fun at his action hero persona and even throws in a couple "Die Hard" jokes for the fans.

Second, Tracy Morgan being Tracy Morgan is always funny. Let's face it, the guy is straight up crazy town but if you find his shtick funny, then this film will have you roaring.

Third, Seann William Scott being Seann William Scott steals this film. As a very athletic burglar, Scott's scenes with Morgan and Willis are some of the best of the film.
